Meet Our Management Team

My name is Nicole Politis. I am one of the Directors at Portico Day Nurseries. I started the company 16 years ago when my son was 9 weeks old. Being a new mum myself, I felt I was well equipped to know what parents wanted. My aim was to provide a loving, caring, and safe environment for children and a place where parents felt happy to leave their precious child. Craig joined me a few years later and together, we have built seven settings under the Portico brand, all offering outstanding child care with a real family feel. My motto has always been “If you have a happy team, you have happy children and very happy parents.” I love my role and visit all the settings on a weekly basis. We have wonderful teams in all our settings and, from the area manager to the brand new apprentice, we all strive for the best outcomes for the children in our care.

Hello, my name is Sarah and I have worked in childcare for 25 years now. I have worked for Portico Nursery Group since the company opened. I have previously been the manager at Portico Lodge and Portico at Moss Bank, and became Area Manager in 2012. I am an Early Years Professional and have The National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership.

As area manager, I visit all our settings during the week and support the managers and their teams  to help ensure we offer the best childcare and education to our families. I have lots of experience to be able to support the teams hands on in the rooms, while supporting managers with leadership, management, and the professional development of their teams.

I love my job as no day is the same. I feel very privileged to work with all our amazing teams and see our team members develop their careers. However, my favourite part is seeing the children grow. It’s always a sad day when they leave for school, although the greatest reward is knowing that we have played a part in ensuring they are ready for the next stage of their life.

My name is Vicki. I am the nursery manager at Portico Poppets Day Nursery and have been in post here since 2007 although I have worked for Portico Nursery Group since it was established in 2002. I hold my Early Years Professional Status which enables me to assist my team in delivering a highly effective, fun, and engaging teaching and learning experience for the children. I am a happy, passionate person who loves to learn new skills and keep up-to-date with current practice in Early Years sector. I love to see children developing in their own way developing their own personality and having a uniqueness.

My name is Clare Eccles, and I am the manager at Portico at Moss Bank. I completed my NNEB in1995 and started work as a nanny. In 2009, I began work in a nursery in Skelmersdale which was taken over by Portico Nursery Group in 2011. I was promoted to manage Portico at Moss Bank in 2015, and I am now a senior manager within the company.

My job is the best job in the world! Seeing your babies grow into confident school ready children is the best job satisfaction. My aim is that all children will make great progress whist they are with us, and that Mums, Dads, Carers and all family members will feel supported while their child/children are with us.

My name is Jane. I have worked at Portico Kindergarten for 10 years, working from Nursery Practitioner to Manager.I have been in childcare for 17 years, including 6 years as Manager of Portico Kindergarten.

I am committed to creating a loving, friendly and stimulating environment for all the children and team members within the setting.

I enjoy the day to day business of working with children and my team, and I am committed to providing an exciting and stimulating environment for learning and development within the Early Years.

Hello I’m Linzi, Nursery Manager at Portico Lodge. I have worked in childcare for 14 years and as nursery manager since January 2017. My main passion in childcare is to watch the children grow and develop. My ethos is child centred and I believe that children are at the heart of everything we do. I hold a Level 4 qualification in Leadership and Management and strive to lead a team of exceptional practitioners.

Working in early years has been a passion since leaving high school, and my vision is always to provide outstanding care and education for all children. As a mum of 2 myself, I understand how precious your little ones are and the joy they bring on a day-to-day basis. I have worked in nursery management for many years both in the UK and abroad, and have also been a support partner measuring quality in different settings within many local authorities. I have used this knowledge over the years to support and manage teams of exceptional childcare practitioners. I have worked with children of all ages and my passion continues to be the quality of outcomes for children, and how they develop.

I have a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and more recently qualified as an Early Years Assessor. I am committed to providing the highest quality of childcare, and to lead our team of nursery practitioners to ensure we always deliver the very best at all times.

Hello my name is Becca. I have worked for the company for 12 years although I have worked with children ever since leaving school. I have been a nursery manager for 5 years, excluding a year out to travel.

I am passionate and driven about ensuring the children and families receive the highest quality care and teaching. We are always looking at what works best for our families, so we are always reaching to improve. As well as looking at what it is like for the children in our care, I like to do my best to keep a happy team. ☺

We have many ways for parents to communicate with us, and I feel we have great relationships with our families. Parents and carers know they can leave their child/ren, as they are being cared for in a safe and nurturing environment, where they are able to have fun and thrive whilst learning.
